Cherokee Residence

Bellhaus are currently designing a forever home and studio for clients who are planning to escape to the country and begin a new chapter of their lives in Cherokee, Victoria. Designed to embrace the contours of the landscape, layered terraces have been developed along with two separate residential wings that are linked together to provide shared living spaces and connection to the rural setting. Given the site’s location within a densely vegetated area, it is subject to a very high bushfire attack level which has necessitated a considered design to achieve BAL 40 compliance. The design also achieves a 7.2-star energy rating through off grid liveability and passive orientation.
